Welcome to Kuwait linux

Posted by: Mo Mughrabi Add comments

I've been wanting to start a Linux/Unix site since college. Although, am a little ashamed that am starting a Linux community and I don't have Linux installed on any of my machines. Yet, am using Unix & Linux machines for at least 8 hours at work every day.

Am positive about all the talents we have here in Kuwait and in the middle east in general. I've worked with the brightest minds and it is something to be proud of.

I wish the community will start on the right foot and began its journey. The main goals and prospective are to support Linux users in Kuwait and be able to feed them with the latest news about Linux locally and internationally.

Finally, I would love to hear from the people if there is any suggestions. So, feel free to leave your comment..

Well my suggestion would be to include one or two basic topics on which Linux distribution which are easy to install and have good arabic localizations available.
As far as easy-to-use goes, I have been using Suse Linux for quite some time now and its simply amazing. But I have no idea about arabic localizations as I never needed it.

    hello everybody,
first of all i would like to thank all the workders in site for their efforts. i’m Red Hat Linux System Admin. i’ve used many verity of linux flavors, if you want to do official enterprise job and services, you go with Redhat systems. otherwise, for personal usage go and use any of the known distro .. not to underestimate other distro of Linux but once you deal with the Kernel, they all will be the same to you but the difference is the commercial applications and other tools that comes with the system.

on the other hand, we can make and run a better Linux community if we could have set together or meet to arrange the agenda for it ..

    good luck
